Youth Summit 2019 - Rethinking Education and Employment for Youth

Youth Summit 2019 will provide an opportunity for youth ages 16-24 to learn about different career paths by participating in hands-on workshops, and interacting with employers and key community partners who provide certification programs.

This one-day summit will have three components:

  • Opening session -The Summit will open with a session to connect youth and speakers from different industries (i.e. Information Technology, Construction, etc.) The conversation will focus on the importance of youth employment and how we need to rethink the future of education and employment.

  • Workshops - Attendees will participate in workshops that focus on four topics suggested by metro Atlanta youth and young adults, giving participants an opportunity to share ideas and experience and learn about how to navigate their future education and employment pathways. The topics are Career Planning, Networking, Mentoring and Financial Literacy.

  • Closing session - Youth will share their learnings from the summit and discuss what else they need to be prepared for education and employment opportunities in metro Atlanta.
