Georgia’s Second Chances Bill – The Impact for Employers in 2021

Georgia’s Second Chances Bill (SB 288) was signed into law by Governor Kemp this August and goes into effect January 1, 2021. Under current Georgia law, almost all convictions stay on a person’s record forever, creating lifetime barriers to employment, housing, and other opportunities. SB 288 changed Georgia’s law to allow for certain convictions to be restricted and sealed after a period of time to give a second chance to thousands of Georgians who are held back by their criminal history.

How does this change impact employers? Join the Metro Atlanta Chamber on December 3, 2020 from 9 AM to 10 AM to learn from legal experts at Georgia Justice Project how this will impact your business.
